Portia de Rossi

—Portia de Rossi to reporters at the TCA Winter Press Tour, about her character on the upcoming ABC comedy Better Off Ted
PORTIA DE ROSSI WANTS YOU TO BE ANIMAL-FREE Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres had a completely vegan wedding, so it's not a surprise that both women follow the diet themselves. Ellen is a more recent convert, and Portia told reporters at TCA last week that they've both changed a lot since they began dating:
When Ellen and I first got together I was wearing fur and Ellen was wearing very expensive Italian calfskin leather. She was giving me a hard time about wearing the fur and I said, ‘Why is a fox any more important than a cow?’ … We took that idea and went all the way with it. We are doing what we can.
Fashion being just as important to the women as what they eat, Portia is going to be launching her own vegan shoe line.
Considering Natalie Portman's vegan shoes didn't fare so well, I wonder how Portia's will be much different. I also wonder how she will have the time, considering she has a new TV show and is also (hopefully) going to be working on the Arrested Development movie in the near future. She's currently starring in the newly released film, Ambition to Meaning: Finding Your Life's Purpose.
Maybe she'll name the pumps after herself and a special sneaker line or other sensible shoes after her wifey.

Last hours of 2008.

Last hours of 2008.
2008. So many bitter sweet memories. If I had one wish right now, I wish for something that can hold my sweetest memories close to me so that I won't forget. And something to put away all the bitter ones for good. 2008 has been a wonderful year to me. . having agreat girl friend atrue lover beside you is the best thing ever and all the wonderful people I've met, all the things we've done together with my sayang, all those are the ones I am fond of. Honestly, I am sad to know that 2008 is passing, waiting for no one. Approaching 2009, a new chapter we must write on, an empty canvas we must paint on, a new life to be created without knowing whats going to happen.

We might lose some friends, we might gain some. We cry for the departing 2008, we cheer for the upcoming 2009. If it weren't for 2008, I wouldn't be happier now. =)

but im happy for upcomming year

Their victim, who has not been identified was carjacked, and repeatedly raped and assaulted for 45 minutes before she was dumped on the street and sought help from a resident.
"Richmond police on Wednesday arrested a 15-year-old male and 21-year-old Humberto Hernandez Salvadore at their Richmond homes. The 15-year-old was charged with felony counts of sexual assault, kidnapping and robbery, said Richmond Police Lt. Mark Gagan. Salvadore, who authorities described as the ringleader in the incident, was charged with felony counts of kidnapping to commit a sex crime, carjacking, rape, gang rape, as well as charged associated with probation violation and felonies committed while on probation. The teenager is being held with no bail at a juvenile facility in Martinez; Salvadore is being held in county jail in Martinez with no bail. A sixteen-year-old male from Hercules turned himself in around midnight, was charged with felonies related to the alleged rape and kidnapping and was also being held in a juvenile detention center. The teenager, who was known by the nickname "Blue," was accompanied by his family, Gagan said. Salvadore 'had the most involvement and gave orders and directions to the other individuals,' Gagan said. 'But they're all responsible for the crimes that were committed against the victim.'"
Police have a $1 million arrest warrant on a fourth suspect, 21-year-old Josue Gonzalez (pictured) who goes by the name of "Pato". He is believed to be armed and dangerous.
The assault is being treated as a hate crime because the assailants made remarks about the victim's sexual orientation. Her car also had rainbow flag stickers on it.

Two men and two teens have been arrested on suspicion of gang-raping a woman last month while allegedly taunting her for being a lesbian, police said. Officers arrested Humberto Hernandez Salvador at his home Wednesday (December 31) night, Richmond police Lt Mark Gagan said. The 31-year-old is being held without bail on gang rape, kidnapping and carjacking charges. Police on Wednesday also arrested a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy, who were being held at a juvenile detention center on similar charges. Their names were not released. Josue Gonzalez, 21, turned himself yesterday after police announced they were searching for him. He was wanted on a USD 1 million arrest warrant on charges of gang rape, kidnapping and carjacking. Gagan said Gonzalez asked for an attorney when he turned himself in but said nothing about his alleged role in the attack. Police would not detail each person's alleged involvement in the attack but said tips from local residents led to the arrests. The incident happened in a gritty area of Northern California's San Francisco Bay area. Detectives say the 28-year-old victim was attacked on December 13 after she got out of her car, which bore a rainbow gay pride sticker. The alleged attackers made comments indicating they knew she was alesbian, police said. Authorities have characterised the case as a hate crime. Police said the victim lives openly with a female partner.

Four arrested over gang rape of lesbian woman

Two men and two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of gang-raping a woman who they had allegedly taunted for being a lesbian.

Last Updated: 4:29AM GMT 02 Jan 2009
Police, who described the 45-minute attack as a hate crime, said they arrested a 31-year-old man and two teenage boys aged 15 and 16 on Wednesday at their homes in Richmond, near San Francisco.
A second man, aged 21, turned himself in on Thursday after police announced they were seeking him on charges of gang rape, kidnapping and carjacking.
The 28-year-old victim was attacked on December 13 in Richmond after she got out of her car, which bore a rainbow gay pride sticker. Police said the attackers made comments indicating they knew the woman, who lives openly with her female partner, was a lesbian.
The attack began when one of the men approached the woman, struck her with a blunt object and ordered her to strip. He then sexually assaulted her with the help of the others, according to detectives.
When the group saw another person approaching, they forced the victim back into her car and took her to a burned-out apartment building.
She was raped again inside and outside the vehicle and left naked outside the building while her attackers took her wallet and drove off in her car, police said.
The men were being held without bail on gang rape, kidnapping and carjacking charges. The boys were detained at a juvenile detention centre and face similar charges.
Lt. Mark Gagan, of Richmond police, said authorities felt that while all the suspects were at large, "a large cross-section of our population felt unsafe. Now that the fourth one is behind bars, we can all breathe a sigh of relief."
Police did not provide details on each person's alleged role in the crime although Lt Gagan told the San Francisco Chronicle that the oldest suspect "had the most involvement and gave orders and directions to the other individuals.
"But they're all responsible for the crimes that were committed against the victim," he added.
The attack generated widespread attention and authorities offered a 10,000 dollar reward for information. Tips from local residents helped lead to the arrests, police said, although they did not say whether the reward had been distributed.
